Regarding the recent News item on credit/debit cards being skimmed at some
petrol stations.
I always (where possible) use Tesco "pay at pump" for petrol.
I have previously thought it wasn't particularly secure as no PIN number is
required, but now, it turns out this is a distinct advantage.
This type of payment may, of course be available at other petrol outlets.

our local asda do the pay at the pump,
only thing is that a thief of your card can fill up a stolen car with petrol
and leave you with the bill.
if the have cloned your card then they can use that in stead of your
original card.

And then the entire message in the signature.

"banjo" old chap, could you do me a favour? Take your computer back to
the place where you bought it, hand it in and ask for your money back.

If the salesman asks why, tell him you are too stupid to own a computer.

There are a surprising number of other places that do not need the PIN,
I have recently used them at airports and Eurotunnel car parks.
