Sortof, normally one can hardly buy anything above 100 euro's there, hence
the surprise.... )
But like the similar German chain Lidl they often have surprisingly nice
items, like exotic food actions (which are not always a success, in
conservative regions, so you can buy them at a huge discount in the
end.... )
Or a compact automotive toolbox for 50 euro's, that not only includes a basic
set of sockets and wrenches, but also electrical tester & crimptools, plus a
decent ratchet screw driver and dual/in-out battery-post cleaner....haven't
seen the latter two items included in such kits anywhere before, not even for
more money.

Yes, be careful though. Both stores have a suspicious history when it
comes to "bargain" delicatessen products.

I', concerned about this particular example because I'm a farmer in
Italy producing a few tonnes of olive oil per year. Both supermarkets
sell "Italian" olive oil cheaper than the cost of production.
OTOH a few months ago I bought a number of air tools[1] from Aldi,
because even if they are disposable chinese rubbish, they were cheap
enough to use until broken then throw away/recycle.
Spotblast gun
Hammer chisel
Drill
Sander
Nut driver
Wash gun
Stapler
Nailer
Helicoil framing nailer
The girl on the checkpout looked bemused because all I had in the
trolley was the "special offers". |

Shame they didn't do that with a cheaper variety of oil....olive oil is a
bit too decadent to use for diesel propulsion....;))

Hmm, I don't know if the "SIMPLY"Mafia is involved ;-), but around lake
Garda I could not find ANY Aldi, though there was a store named
Pennymarket, which looked like a spitting image of Aldi's...

gemiddeld.
